What is BlindBid Fantasy?

BlindBid is a fantasy sports draft platform built around sealed-bid auctions. Instead of a snake draft or traditional auction, everyone submits secret bids at the same time and they're revealed and resolved all at once.

Why bother?

It's fast, it's fair, it's fun. In a normal auction the bids usually creep up, with new bids resetting the clock. One player can take a minute or more. Seconds matter when you're drafting 150 players. With sealed bid drafts it's easy to do it in 30 seconds per player or less. No more sniping, no gaming the system, no peer pressure to creep your bids up, just strategy. It's also a much more pleasant slow draft experience. Check once a day and submit all your bids, there's no advantage from checking more often, no confusing timers.

How does a sealed-bid auction work?

A player is nominated. Each manager privately submits the maximum they're willing to pay. When all bids are in (or the timer expires), all bids are revealed simultaneously. The highest bidder wins the player.

What is Vickrey (2nd-price) pricing and why does it matter?

The winner pays the second-highest bid plus $1 — not their own bid. This means there's no penalty for bidding your true maximum. You can never "overpay" relative to what the competition valued the player at. It's the fairest auction format in economics, and it makes strategy honest.

What's the difference between Live and Async draft modes?

Live mode runs your whole draft in one session — all managers join simultaneously, nominations move quickly, players are drafted one at a time, and you're done in around 2 hours. Async mode lets managers bid on their own schedule over multiple days, making it ideal for leagues spread across time zones and big drafts like dynasty startups. Players are auctioned in groups that resolve at the same time every day. Every day it's a new group of players (or twice a day if the commissioner wants to go quicker).

What is a Dynasty draft?

In dynasty leagues, you keep your roster year to year. The auction draft fills your team in year one — after that, you add players through waivers, trades, and rookie drafts. BlindBid supports dynasty format with in-draft trade and pick management built in.

How does conditional bidding work?

Conditional bids let you submit bids on multiple players while staying within your budget. You can bid on a group and specify that you only want to win one of them, or set a priority order so you don't end up blowing your whole budget on 3 quarterbacks day one.

How do I start a league?

Create a free account, click "New League" from your dashboard, and configure your settings — team count, budget, roster format, and draft mode. Then share your invite link. That's it.

How do I invite people to my league?

Every league has a unique invite link on its league page. Anyone who clicks it gets added to your league automatically. No codes to manage, no emails to send — just share the link.

Is BlindBid Fantasy free?

BlindBid is free during our launch period. We're focused on building the best possible draft experience before introducing any paid features.

Can I try it?

Yes — create a league and fill it with bots to see how it works. After you create a league you'll find the ability to add bots in the league settings. They're not geniuses but it'll let you get a feel for the mechanics.
